Programs, Events & Partnerships Officer
Planning of annual programs and events while building partnerships to strengthen impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a yearly events and programs calendar.
- Coordinate logistics, budgets, and team roles for each event.
- Identify and secure partnerships with organizations, institutions, and community leaders.
- Represent the organization in partner meetings and joint initiatives.
Communications & Content Officer
Facilitate social media, storytelling, and public outreach to increase visibility and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage a social media and content calendar.
- Design graphics, videos, and stories highlighting programs, advocacy, and community impact.
- Monitor audience engagement and adjust strategies for growth.
- Work with team members to share updates and promote events.
Grants, Fundraising & Proposal Writer
Secure resources by identifying funding opportunities and crafting compelling proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research grants, donor programs, and sponsorship opportunities.
- Prepare and submit proposals for partnerships and funding.
- Write petitions and advocacy documents for diaspora affairs.
- Maintain a funding opportunities database and track deadlines.
Heritage Preservation & Storytelling Officer
Preserve and promote African history, culture, and diaspora heritage through documentation and storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect oral histories, interviews, and cultural narratives from elders, historians, and community members.
- Document traditions, artifacts, and stories related to the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and diaspora experiences.
- Support heritage-based events, exhibitions, and publications
- Collaborate with media and education teams to share heritage content with the public.
Administrative & Digital Communications Assistant
Provide administrative support and maintain effective communication channels for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to emails, phone calls, and inquiries.
- Prepare and send newsletters to the community.
- Update website content, blog posts, and announcements.
- Keep contact lists, schedules, and organizational records up to date.
- Support coordination of virtual and in-person meetings.
Volunteer & Membership Coordinator
Recruit, onboard, and train volunteers while managing membership programs, benefits, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage volunteer recruitment campaigns.
- Interview, screen, and onboard new volunteers.
- Provide orientation and training on roles, policies, and expectations.
- Maintain membership database and track benefits.
- Create outreach materials and content for members.
- Foster engagement and retention through recognition, networking opportunities, and regular updates.
