The Return Of The
DIASPORA TO THEIR
ROOTS
To identify and restore the roots and heritage of the African diaspora community, and promote a successful reintegration of the diaspora to their ancestral homes.
OUR WORK
The African Diaspora Group is invested in the research and restoration of African diaspora heritage. There has been widespread loss of cultural identity, resulting from the centuries that the diaspora has spent displaced from the continent, and the time reach back is now.
For the diaspora, the motherland holds vital information about their roots, history, and culture, and without proper restoration, her diaspora will forever be fractured.
Mother Africa will help to restore what was lost, and the children of the diaspora will reciprocate by providing knowledge-sharing and capacity building to promote a self-sufficient, prosperous Africa.
A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin, and culture is like a tree without roots.
THE AFRICAN DIASPORA
The African Diaspora describes people of African origin, living outside of the continent due to voluntary migration (the continental diaspora), or through forced exportation due to the horrors of the Transatlantic slave trade (the historical diaspora). The diaspora is vast, and includes displaced Africans living in numerous countries all around the world. It is time for Africans in the diaspora to break free from their manufactured identities, and return to their roots through attaining knowledge of self.
