Diaspora Gives Project

The African Diaspora Gives project is our annual event in which we identify a major need within a community or village within Africa, and raise money from the diaspora to then go and get the work done on the ground, in order to fix that need.
Examples of such projects include: providing clean water for a village that otherwise does not have access, installing solar panels to provide energy from the sun, building a school in a community where better facilities are needed for optimal education, etc.

As Africans in the diaspora, our dollar is powerful, and when a collective force is formed, the diaspora can make a huge impact on the development and advancement of African nations. Previously, these needs have been left for foreign investors to resolve – but in return these countries have often issued predatory loans with unfavorable terms, leaving African countries at high risk for default, resulting in the loss of important land and infrastructure.

The African Diaspora is invested in the growth of African countries, without the strings attached. Through The African Diaspora Group, these needs will be addressed for the people, by the people.

The African Diaspora Group is currently accepting ideas for our next Diaspora Gives Project, and we want to hear from you! The focus will be on West African countries at this time. Citizens of West Africa, please submit details on major prohibiting issues within your country. Africans in the diaspora, what are some areas in which you would like to see West Africa grow?
